Serabee has come a long way from her days of sneaking out of her Kiln, Mississippi childhood home to explore the vibrant music scene in New Orleans. "Music is in my blood, and the road I've traveled can't help but form my music," says the singer/songwriter. Singing since the age of five, Serabee became part of her Preacher father's touring band almost before she could read - performing across America's fertile spiritual-crescent with her four siblings and mother in tow. With an eye on developing her own secular music career after building a buzz on the New Orleans scene, Serabee began to bend her musical horizons even further. The Oscar-winning actress Charlize Theron took part in the OneXOne charity event in San Francisco, where she took the stage to auction off a two-week trip to her native South Africa to watch soccer’s World Cup in summer 2010. While the trip itself was a nice prize, the winning bidder also received other extra item for her $140,000 donation – a liplock with the Oscar winner. And the woman certainly got her money’s worth — the two embraced and kissed onstage for nearly 25 seconds. Charlize was at the event to help raise money for the Charlize Theron African Outreach Project, which is teaming with the OneXOne Foundation to bring soccer fields and clean water to the children of South Africa by 2010, which is when the World Cup will be hosted there. Other celebrities on hand at the event included Jeremy Piven, Josh Groban, Carlos Santana, Laila Ali and David Arquette. At one point during the auction, Piven also jumped onstage and encouraged two guests to bid $140,000 each for a walk-on role on the hit HBO show, “Entourage.” The OneXOne gala was supposed to be hosted by Matt Damon, however as previously reported on AccessHollywood.com, the actor was forced to pull out of the event due to a family emergency.
